Natural beauty
It is a landscape of unique natural beauty which is part of the Nature Net (Natura) 2000. The mountains in the area are Triggia and Koziakas, which are covered with fir and oak-tree forests. At the riversides of Penios’ tributaries, Palaiochoris and Kleinovitis, various species of riverside vegetation grow, such as plane-trees, wild woodbines and blackberry bushes. The naked sub-alpine regions are covered with mossy vegetation and they serve as mountainous grasslands. Many species of wild fauna live in these forests: bears, wild boars, wolves, hare, partridges, magpies and hawks, whereas, in the mountainous rivers, there lives the mountainous trout. The European Path of Hyper-Border Passages E4 crosses the Municipal Department of Glykomilia.

Athletic Activities
The visitor can try climbing, walking and skiing in the alpine regions and get close to nature. In the Municipal Department of Glykomilia, there is a Koziakas hiking shelter (1,800m) and in the Municipal Department of Kleinos at the location “Anoixiatika” (1,400m), the hiking shelter of Triggia. Visitors can also go hunting in Koziakas reserve and trout fishing in Kleinovitis and Palaiochoritis rivers.

In the cafes and the taverns, visitors can try roast lamb on the spit, kokoretsi, spinantero in the cafes and the taverns and drink local wines and tsipouro. They can also buy mountainous apples, walnuts, honey, vegetables and cream cheese.
